 Dhaka
    (UNB) – Bangladesh will take on Kuwait in their first final round
    appearance in the 9th Asian Youth Under-16 Football Championship on
    September 6 at the Danang Stadium in Vietnam.   The
    10-team final round, the main battle among the top football teams for the
    coveted title of the prestigious Asian youth meet, will be held at the
    Danang Stadium in Vietnam on September 3-17.   Bangladesh
    team, which emerged Group-4 champions to qualify for the final round of the
    prestigious Asian youth meet eliminating host India in the qualifying round
    in Jamshedpur last June, is expected to leave here for Vietnam on August 28.   On
    way to Vietnam, the 25-member Bangladesh team is likely to play two
    preparation matches in Bangkok.   Earlier,
    Bangladesh have been placed in five-team Group B along with Thailand, Iran,
    Kuwait and Oman.   World
    cup playing nation Japan, China, Myanmar, Nepal and the host Vietnam have
    been placed in Group A of the fray in the final round.    In
    the other group matches, Bangladesh will play against Oman on Sept 8, meet
    giant Iran on Sept 10 and take on Thailand on Sept 12. 
       Two
    top teams from each group will qualify for the semifinals scheduled for Sept
    15 at the same venue while the final match will be held on September 17.   Bangladesh
    team: Mustafizur Rahman Munna, Mohammad Tarek, Nafizur Rahman Kachi,
    Raquibul Islam Ruku, 
    Rafiquzzaman Mohan, Moshiur Rahman Siraji, Mahboob Alam Polo, Aminul
    Islam, SM Hadiuzzaman, Masud Parvez Kaiser, Masudul Islam, Syed Hossain
    Surat, Zia, Tarek, Mamun, Sumon, Rizvi, Tutul, Ujjal and Dalim.   Standby:
    Al Amin, Rashed Ahmed Pappu, Saiful, Sohel and Ripon.   Officials: Team Leader - Khandakar Anwarul Islam, Deputy Team Leader - Moinul Islam Moyna, Technical Manager - Golam Sarwar Tipu, Coach - Pranab Kumar Dey Bhanu and Physio - Dr Mahfuzullah Chisty.  |
