Youth team to go to Vietnam |

Dhaka (UNB) - A 25-member Bangladesh Youth team leaves for Vietnam Tuesday to participate in the final round of the 9th Asian Youth Under-16 Football Championship. Ten top seeded teams of the continent will fight for the coveted Asian Under-16 soccer title from September 3-17 at the Danang Stadium in Vietnam. Ujjal has been made captain of the Vietnam-bound Bangladesh Youth team, comprising 20 booters and five officials. Meanwhile, the team made a courtesy call on State Minister for Youth, Sports and Cultural Affairs Obaidul Quader at NSC conference room this (Sunday) afternoon. The Sports Minister handed over gold medals to the players and coach of the team on be half of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for winning the Asian group title in Jamshedpur in June. Secretary General of Bangladesh Olympic Association and Vice-President of BFF Zafar Imam and two joint secretaries of BFF, Sirajul Islam Bachchu and Badal Roy, were present on the occasion. Bangladesh, which booked the seat for a 10-team final round as the Group-4 champions eliminating hosts India on their home soil, have been placed in Group B with giants Iran, Kuwait, Thailand and Oman. The Group A teams comprises world cupper Japan, China, Myanmar, Nepal and hosts Vietnam. The youth side of the South Asian Federation (SAF) Games champions Bangladesh will start their Asian final round campaign with giant Kuwait on Sept 6. Bangladesh will meet Oman on Sept 8, Iran on 10 and Thailand on Sept 12 in their group affairs. Bangladesh team : Mustafizur Rahman Munna, Mohammad Tarek, Nafizur Rahman Kochi, Rakibul Islam Ruku, Rafiquzzaman Mohan, Moshiur Rahman Siraji, Mahboob Alam Polo, Aminul Islam, SM Hadiuzzaman, Masud Parvez Kaiser, Masudul Islam, Syed Hossain Surat, Zia, Tarek, Mamun, Sumon, Rizvi, Tutul, Ujjal and Dalim.
