Dhaka (UNB)- Arambagh KS registered their second straight win in the NBL Premier Division Football League beating Victoria SC by 2-0 goals at the Bangabandhu National Stadium yesterday (Wednesday). With the day’s win, Arambagh Krira Sangha secured 10 points while promotees Victoria Sporting Club bagged two points from eight matches. Taju and Canial Akumu Wino, a Nigerian striker of Arambagh, scored one goal each in the day’s one-sided encounter. The winners led the first half 1-0 when Taju placed the ball into net from a Khokon free-kick in the 16th minute. Lowly Victoria Sporting Club got a great opportunity to equalize the margin when they were awarded a penalty as a cross of Abul touched Kamal’s hand in the danger zone. But Polo played the penalty shot wide amidst wrong attempt by opposition custodian Himu. Arambagh’s Nigerian recruit Wino doubled the margin in the 16th minute of the second half as his right footer kissed the net after racing in the opposition danger zone from a Khokon minus. The winners squandered about half a dozen easy chances in the second half. Yellow cards: Kamal and Wino (Arambagh), Mamun (Victoria). Earlier in a the first division match, Youngmens Club Fakirerpool outplayed BRTC Sporting Club by 3-0 goals at the same venue. The winners dominated the first half 2-0. Aziz, Nasir and Shohag scored for the winners. |
