Muktijoddha beat Rahmatganj in Football League |

Dhaka (UNB) – An excellent hattrick by Indian IM Bijoyan helped Muktijoddha Sangsad KC beat Rahmatganj MFS by 3-0 goals in their first appearance in the NBL Premier Division Football League at Bangabandhu National Stadium yesterday. It was the second hattrick in the ongoing metropolis premier league after Mohammedan striker Imtiaz Ahmed Naquib, who earned the distinction in the league opener against Dhanmondi Club on Friday. Indian national striker IM Bijoyan, a booter of Calcutta FC Coaching team, scored all the three goals for the freedom fighters in the second half. Dark and well-built Indian forward Bijoyan opened the Muktijoddha account in the 48th minute by a good header Capitalising on a right wing cross from defender Hasan Al Mamun (1-0). The celebrated Indian footballer again sounded the freedom fighters’ margin just three minutes later, also with a well judged header by his repeated attempts off a Farhad pass (2-0). He completed the second hattrick in the league in the 80th minute pushing the ball to net from a handshake distance utilising a right-wing cross of substitute Sourav Raju (3-0). Despite losing the match by a huge margin, Rahmatganj fought equally with Muktijoddha Sangsad till the final whistle, but failed to score due to poor finishing. On the other hand, Muktijoddha Sangsad played a planned game to take the fruits utilising most of the chances came their way. Besides, Liton and Farhad of Muktijoddha, Shamim and Moni of Rahmatganj managed some good chances, but failed utilise due to their shakiness and the confident goal keeping of their opponent.
