Bangladesh suffered a 3-1 defeat against Oman |

Sept 8 (UNB) - Bangladesh youth team suffered a 3-1 defeat against Oman in
their second group match in the final round of the 9th Asian
Youth Under-16 Football Championship in Vietnam today (Friday). The
match was locked 1-1 in the first half. Ujjal
put Bangladesh ahead early in the 4th minute, but the joy was
short-lived as Al Bulishi (2) restored parity for Oman only after six
minutes. However,
Tutul and Sumon missed two easy chances in the first half within seven
minutes, according to a faxed message. Shikairi
netted the second goal for Oman in the 66th minute. Azmi
completed the winners’ tally in the 85th minute. Bangladesh juvenile team got two more chances in the second half, but Dalim failed to score despite open net while a Ujjal volley was saved by Oman’s custodian. Bangladesh,
who started their campaign on a happy note beating Kuwait by a solitary
goal, will play their next match against Iran on Sunday and their last
group-B match against Thailand on Sept 12. Bangladesh:
