Hanif inaugurated first round of 7th National Immunization Day |

Dhaka, Apr 23 (UNB) – City Mayor Mohammad Hanif today inaugurated the first round of the 7th National Immunization Day by administering Polio vaccines to some children of 1-5 years at the Nagar Bhaban.
Launching the city’s the drive the Mayor called upon all guardians to help feed their children Polio vaccine with a view to make the country Polio-free by this year.
Children between 1 and 5 years of age were administered Polio in 1,465 Vaccine Centers of the City Corporation, government and non-government organizations. Some 6,000 volunteers worked in the vaccine centers.
Besides, 95 mobile teams, each comprising two members, administered the dose to the children in slums, bus stations, rail stations, ferry ghats and densely populated areas. A four-day “Child to Child Search” program will be conducted to administer vaccines to the dropped children from today, said a DCC press release.
