Doctors imparted training on dengue fever |

Dhaka (UNB) – Ninety-eight physicians of capital Dhaka while 36 of the port city of Chittagong have been imparted training on dengue fever treatment, a review meeting on dengue fever was told yesterday. Held at Health Ministry with Health Secretary Syed Alamgir Farooque Chowdhury in the chair, the meeting reviewed the present situation of dengue outbreak and its treatment facilities. The meeting was informed that civil surgeons in every district are also arranging clinical discussion among doctors working in district hospitals and clinics in line with the WHO guidelines for the treatment of dengue fever and dengue hemorrhagic fever. Emphasising the need for improved clinical management of dengue fever, the meeting directed the civil surgeons and thana medical officers to refer serious patients to Dhaka. Experts on dengue fever, representatives from different hospitals, including Shishu Hospital, Suhrawardy Hospital and Red Crescent Holy Family Hospital attended the meeting, according to an official handout.
