2 Nobel laureates & WHO chief to attend health assembly |

Dhaka (UNB) - With a view to make success the ensuing Peoples' Health Assembly 2000 in Bangladesh in December, six divisional conferences of its Bangladesh Chapter starts from September 17. In Dhaka division, Proshika will organise the conference on September 17 while BRAC in Barisal on October 5, DORP in Chittagong on October 7, Archies in Rajshahi on October 11, FHFO in Khulna on October 14 and ASA in Sylhet on October 15, organisers said. The dates of divisional conferences were fixed in a meeting at the PHA Bangladesh headquarter at Ganoshaystha Nagar Hosptial here Saturday. Main objective of the 5-day international health conference at Savar Ganoshaystha Kendra from December 4-8 is to identify problems, trends and challenges for evolving strategies to ensure health for all, especially the grassroots ones, around the globe. Over 1,000 representatives from over 100 countries, including Indian Nobel laureate Prof Amartya Sen and Albanian Nobel laureate Farid Murad and WHO Chief Brutland will attend the Assembly. |
