Thailand to assist Bangladesh about dengue fever |

Dhaka (UNB) - Thailand has assured Bangladesh of providing technical assistance and training in developing dengue fever management. Thai ambassador to Bangladesh Pithaya Pookaman made the pledge during a meeting with Health Minister Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim at his office here yesterday (Monday). The envoy said the Thai government would soon send an expert team to Bangladesh to impart training to the doctors here on improvement of dengue fever management. Praising Bangladesh government's effort to combat the fever successfully, the Thai ambassador laid emphasis on exchanging experience, skill and knowledge in preventing dengue fever. The Health Minister thanked the Thai government for sending a five-member expert team in Bangladesh last month. Health Secretary Syed Alamgir Faruque Chowdhury was present during the meeting. |
