SEOUL (AP) - A South Korean air force fighter jet went missing Wednesday during routine training off the country's east coast, the Defense Ministry said. The F-5E jet with a pilot on board disappeared over the sea 40 kilometers (25 miles) off the nation's east coast and 150 kilometers (93 miles) south of the heavily guarded border with North Korea. The military dispatched helicopters and navy vessels to search for the jet and pilot, the ministry said in a news release. South Korea assembled some of its F-5E jets, first manufactured by Northrop Corp., a U.S. aerospace and defense contractor.
