JERUSALEM, JULY 3 (AP) - A roadside bomb went off near an Israeli patrol in the Gaza Strip Monday and shots were fired towards the patrol's soldiers, the army said. There were no injuries from the incident near the Egyptian border, the army spokesman said, speaking on customary condition of anonymity. The roadside bomb was set and the shots were fired from inside Palestinian controlled territory in the Gaza Strip, the army said.
The Gaza Strip - along southern Israel's coast and adjacent to the Egyptian border - is jointly administered by Israel and the Palestinian Authority.
The army said it was coordinating its investigation into the incident with the Palestinian police.
