Putin confers with top officials in Kremlin |

MOSCOW, (AP) - President Vladimir Putin discussed the Russian economy and other issues with top government ministers Saturday, shortly after returning from a summit of world leaders in New York, the presidential press service said. Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov briefed Putin on the draft 2001 budget and relations between the government and the parliament, which began its fall session this week, the press service said. Putin also conferred with Security Council chief Sergei Ivanov and several Cabinet ministers, according to the press service. The meetings took place just hours after Putin returned from the United Nations Millennium Summit. No other information about the Kremlin meetings was immediately available. |
