Most Often Asked Questions on Pregnancy

16. How much rest / sleep I need?

As much as you need.  I've know women who only got up to eat  in their first three months. Make sure you sleep at least eight or nine hours a night.

17. How often will I have to see my gynae?

Initially, you will have to visit your gynecologist very two weeks; After the third and fourth months, you can do so every three weeks; and after the seventh and eighty months every two weeks again, In the last month you will. you will have to visit your doctor practically every week.

The number of visits you make will also depend on whether you have problems that need monitoring, such as vaginal bleeding, high blood pressure and diabetes.

18. Should I continue exercising?

This isn't the time to take up marathon running. keep doing whatever you're used to but check with your doctor if you engage in strenuous  or potentially dangerous sports. Consider mild to moderate prenatal exercise classes, walking or swimming.

19. Have I to read much about pregnancy

Reading to much about all the complications of pregnancy could make you unnecessarily anxious about the most minor of complaints, which can be tackled easily.

20. why am I  being  monitored so much to day when my grandmother probably had 12 babies without medical intervention  thought  the pregnancy?

Because we know more today. Also, keep in mind that in the past, of  the women who conceived,  about  15 per cent lost their babies. Today, anything over one per cent is unacceptable. So, we try to diagnose problems through various techniques to rule out  complications leading to maternal and fetal mortality. Besides, your grandmother may have been. lucky to have her 12 babies whereas there would  have been so many others of her time who lost so many babies.
