Construction of BTV sub-station in Rangamati |

Apr 15 (UNB) – Work is in full swing on the construction of 10-kilowatt
sub-station of Bangladesh Television at the cost of Tk 13 crores.
Being
built with French assistance, the sub-station will be equipped with all
modern transmission facilities including a 120-metre high tower and
automatic control system. Minister
for Chittagong Hill Tracts Kalparanjan Chakma and State Minister for
Information prof Abu Sayeed visited the site, a 3.5 acres land on a
hill-top at the outskirts of Rangamati town, on Friday and inspected the
construction work. BTV Director General Syed Salauddin Zaki accompanied
them. The ministers exchanged views with the local journalists at press club in the afternoon. State Minister Sayeed called upon the local newsmen to present news impartially and objectively without any political bias.
CHT Minister Kalparanjan Chakma also stressed on publishing objective news. Chairman
of Task Force on CHT Refugee Rehabilitation Dipongkar Talukder MP, Hill
Tracts Parishad Chairman Chingkiu Roaza and General Secretary of Press
Club Md Mustafa were among those present in the meeting. |
