SINGAPORE, APR 23 (AP) - Singapore's consumer price index for March was down 0.3 percent over February, reflecting cheaper food and lower transportation and communication costs, the Department of Statistics said Sunday.
The CPI was 1.2 percent higher than in March of last year. Food prices fell by 1.6 percent in March 2000, due mainly to cheaper seafood, vegetables and fresh pork, the department said in a statement.
The price of clothing went up 1.4 percent, while housing and health care costs were unchanged. |
