May 4, 2000 Chittagong, May 3 (UNB) – Showing a downtrend in its benchmark for the last three days, trading at Chittagong Stock Exchange closed higher today (Wednesday). All Share Price Index at the country’s second bourse gained by 3.25 points or 0.30 percent to close at 1081.20 points from Monday’s 1077.95 points. Of the 51 listed securities traded today, 22 gained, 19 declined and 10 remained unchanged. Some 587,133 shares and debentures valued at Tk 2.60 crore were transacted as against 580,990 shares worth Tk 2.71 crore on the previous trading day. Market capitalisation stood at Tk 39.93 billion from Monday’s Tk 39.83 billion.
