Dhaka, (UNB)- A Parliamentary Standing Committee on Commerce Ministry meeting yesterday after threadbare discussion finalized the report on The Insurance (Amendment) Bill, 2000.

The bill earlier placed to the parliament was referred to the committee for scrutiny, said an official handout.

Chaired by committee chairman Raziuddin Ahmed Razu, the meeting was attended by Mir Sakawat Ali (Daru), M Mahibur Rahman (Manik), Akhtar Hamid Siddiqui, M Mosharraf Hossain, Sarwar Jamal Nizam and Prof Shahidul Islam.

Commerce Minister Abdul Jalil attended the meeting on special invitation. Commerce Secretary Golam Rahman and concerned officials were present.
