Business delegation left on visit to Thailand, Taiwan and Japan |

June 4 (UNB) – A 28-member business delegation led by FBCCI President
Abdul Awal Mintoo left here for Bangkok today (Sunday) on a weeklong visit
to Thailand, Taiwan and Japan. In
Bangkok, the delegation of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of
Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) will hold a meeting with the chairman of
Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) tomorrow (Monday). The
team will also have meetings with the Thai Deputy Prime Minister, Commerce
Minister, Secretary General of Board of Investment and Chairman of the
Thai Trade Board. In
Taiwan, the FBCCI delegation will attend the 2nd conference on
joint economic cooperation between Bangladesh and Taiwan on Wednesday.
FBCCI President will address its inaugural session. The
team will leave Taipei for Tokyo the same day to take part in the 11th
meeting of Japan-Bangladesh Joint Committee for Commercial and Economic
Cooperation beginning on Thursday. Foreign
Minister Abdus Samad Azad will also attend the meeting. Later
the FBCCI delegation will participate in a seminar on trade and investment
in Tokyo to discuss investment scenario of Bangladesh and the experiences
of investors. The
team is expected to return home on June 10, said an FBCCI press release.
