Chittagong (UNB) – The Chittagong Stock Exchange witnessed further rise in its benchmark with gainers heavily outnumbering the losers yesterday (Saturday).

All Share Price Index at the country’s second bourse gained 171.47 points or 12.19 percent to close at 1578.26 points from Saturday’s 1406.80 points.

Of the 100 listed securities traded yesterday, 97 gained and three declined.

Some 12,754,046 shares and debentures valued at Tk 22.20 crore changed hands as against 66,193,151 shares worth Tk 14.54 crore on the previous day.

AIMS First Guaranteed (6,875,000) Chic Tex (1,737,500), FU-WANG Foods (876,000), Beximco Pharma (778,350), Quasem Drycells (673,250) and Ashraf Textile (294.800) were among the volume leaders.

Market capitalisation stood at Tk 59.04 billion from Saturday’s Tk 53.10 billion.
