Dhaka (UNB) - Parliamentary Standing Committee on Finance Ministry finalized the Securities and Exchange (Amendment) Bill 2000 for placing it in parliament with some amendments in the rules. The committee in its previous meeting had advised the finance ministry to revise some of the amendment proposals and yesterday it endorsed the revisions after an elaborate discussion. The bill, placed in parliament earlier, was sent to the standing committee for scrutiny. Chaired by committee chairman Prof Mohammad Ali Ashraf, the meeting was attended by its members Chitra Bhatacharya, ASM Mostafa Kamal and MK Anwar. Finance Minister Shah ASM Kibria also attended the meeting on special invitation. Governor of Bangladesh Bank Mohammad Farash Uddin, Chairman In-charge of Securities Exchange Commission Monir Uddin Ahmed and other concerned high officials were also present. |
