Dhaka (UNB) - Price index at Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) posted 4.04 percent gain yesterday as the losers strongly dominated the gainers. The benchmark of the country's main bourse gained 24.56 points or 4.04 percent to close at 631.14 points from Sunday's 606.58 points. Of the 169 listed securities traded yesterday, 140 gained, 24 declined and five remained unchanged. Some 11,016,219 shares and debentures valued at Tk 33.05 crore were transacted as against 14,518,990 shares worth Tk 38.89 crore on the previous day. AIMS First Guaranteed (3,232,500), Chic Tex (1,325,500), Beximco Pharma (1,243,800)and Quasem Drycells (1,036,800) were among the volume leaders. Market capitalisation stood at Tk 59.90 billion from Tk 57.57 billion on Sunday. |
