Chittagong (UNB) – Chittagong Bandar Sramik Dal yesterday (Tuesday) called off their tomorrow’s scheduled strike in the port as the authority convened a preparatory meeting for a new CBA election. The strike was called demanding a new election to the Collective Bargaining Agent (CBA) of port workers as the tenure of present CBA expired in January last. The decision to withdraw the strike came after Joint Labour Director Office called a meeting with Port Authority and four labour organisations on July 16 to take preparation for the CBA election.
