Chittagong(UNB) – The upward spiral trend at the Chittagong Stock Exchange continued for the sixth straight day yesterday with a significant rise in its benchmark.

All Share Price Index at the country’s second bourse gained 52.00 points or 4.14 percent at 1307.97 points from Wednesday’s 1255.97 points.

Of the 81 listed securities traded yesterday,75 gained, four declined and two remained unchanged.

Some 66,193,151 shares and debentures valued at Tk 14.54 crore changed hands as against 40,83,207 shares worth Tk 11.25 crore on the previous day.

Chic Tex (1,420,000), Quasem Drycells (1,084,300), Beximco Pharma (685,000), AIMS First Guaranteed (957,500) and FU-WANG Foods (214,000) were among the volume leaders.

Market capitalisation stood at Tk 49.67 billion from Tk 47.87 billion on Wednesday.
