Committee formed for National Wages |

Dhaka (UNB) - The government yesterday formed an inter-ministerial committee to set modalities of implementing recommendations of the National Wages and Productivity Commission 1998. It has been assigned to make a review of the Commission report and then frame its implementation procedures. The committee was formed following submission of the report the National Wage and Productivity Commission in yesterday's cabinet meeting, presided over by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. In the meeting the cabinet approved proposed amendments to pension-related provision of the Supreme Court Judges (leave, pension and privileges) Ordinance 1982. It also endorsed the agreements on avoidance of double taxation between Bangladesh and Indonesia and Bangladesh and Norway. Cabinet members and state ministers of concerned ministries attended the meeting held at the PM office. Cabinet Secretary, Principal Secretary and secretaries concerned were present. |
