Japan will invest US$ 12 million in EPZ |

Dhaka (UNB) – Japan will invest US$ 12 million equivalent to about Tk 660 million in Dhaka Export Processing Zone for setting up a new unit. A Japanese company known as M/S YKK Corporation has decided to construct a new factory in Dhaka EPZ for manufacturing zipper snap and button, the BEPZA announced yesterday (Thursday). Member (Investment Promotion) Mohammad Abdul Aziz Sarkar of the Bangladesh Export Promotion Zones Authority and senior vice-president of the Japanese company Yoshiharu Yamaguchi signed an agreement here Monday for the undertaking. This will be the 16th Japanese project in Bangladesh EPZs and the total Japanese investment now stands at US$ 72 million. The YKK Corporation is expected to start construction of their own factory building soon and commercial production by the end of this year. |
