BSF and Caritas to take part in silk development project |

Dhaka, Sept 25 (UNB) – Bangladesh Silk Foundation (BSF) and Caritas today signed a Memorandum of Understanding to take part in silk development project. Caritas Executive Director Bitu D’ Costa and BSF Managing Director Dr SA Hossain signed the MOU on behalf of their respective organizations. Under the today’s MOU, Caritas will participate in training, extension, chawki rearing, product promotion and development of Silk Development Project (SDP). Earlier BSF signed four MOUs with TMSS, BRAC, HRD, and Proshikha. BSF, a non-profit company, has been implementing SDP since its establishment in 1998 under a credit of US dollar 11.35 million from International Development Association. BSF also has been producing silkworm, eggs in two areas located at Bogra and Jenidah taken on long-term lease from Bangladesh Sericulture Board and catering to the needs of different NGOs and private entrepreneurs who are implementing sericulture program, said a press release. |
