International tender to introduce GSM Mobile phone |

Dhaka (UNB) – International tender would be floated soon for introducing GSM Mobile phone under the T&T Board, Home and Telecommunications Minister Mohammad Nasim said yesterday. Disclosing this to a delegation of Chinese entrepreneurs, who are willing to invest in Bangladesh’s telecommunications sector, the minister requested them to take part in the tender competition. Led by president of Huawei Technologies Company Ltd Ren Zhengfei, the delegation called on Minister Nasim and discussed investment matters. They showed interest to invest and develop Bangladesh’s telecommunications system, especially modernisation of GSM Mobile phone and Telephone Shilpa Sangstha. Nasim thanked the delegation for showing interest to invest in this sector and informed that Bangladesh is now using Chinese telecom technology. Post and Telecommunications Secretary Nazmul Ahsan Chowdhury was present in the meeting. |
