          Apr 14 (UNB) – The city wore a festive look as people held various
          colorful programs to celebrate Pahela Baishakh, the Bengali new
          year’s day.
          
           
           
          
           
          A
          good number of rallies were brought out in the city with beating up
          drums and playing musical instruments. 
          
           
           
          
           
          To
          mark the day, different cultural organizations also held musical
          programs at different street corners.
          
           
           
          
           
          The
          jubilant people wearing colorful dresses, traditional hats, red sarees
          and musk, joined the programs. Carts pulled by cows and horses were
          the main attractions. 
          
           
           
          
           
          Local
          Shilpakala Academy, Sammilito Sangskritik Jote and Daulatpur
          Sangskritik Jote, Chetona Sangskritit Gosthi, Srejona Sangskritik
          Gosthi, Bangabandhu Sangskritik Parisad and Nazrul Academy were among
          the organisations that brought out the rallies.

          University organized a fair with the participation of students,

          Sales Center of Agriculture Extension Department organized a three-day
