Khulna,
May 10 (UNB) – Four people, including a college teacher, were killed
and 15 others injured in a road accident at Jhilerdanga bus stand on
Khulna-Satkhira highway today (Wednesday).
Police
said a bus of Divisional Minibus Owners Association plunged into a
roadside ditch while overtaking a pickup at about 7:15am.
Three
of the deceased were identified as BM Mizanur Rahman, lecturer of
Ahsanullah College, Nurul Islam Siddique, 51, of Dargahpur in Asasuni
upazila of Satkhira district and Monu, 25, of Ramgati in Khulna.
Ten
of the injured were admitted to Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH),
where the conditions of two were stated to be critical.
Police
seized the bus, but the driver fled the scene. The bodies were sent to
the KMCH morgue for autopsy.
