Khulna,
June 19 (UNB) – Timbers worth about Tk two lakh were snatched by
gunmen from in front of Talimpur Forest post on Sunday.
Police
said forest officials seized the Sundari timbers from deep forest of
the Sundarban when it was being siphoned out in a trawler on Saturday
midnight.
But
the gunman swooped on the trawler at 11am on Sunday in front of the
forest office ghat near river Bhairab and sped away along with the
timbers.
Another
report from Bagerhat adds: Mongla Coastal Guard seized 250 pieces of
Sundari timbers worth of Tk 1.5 lakh from Baruikhal in Morolganj on
Friday.
A
case was filed.
