          Khulna,
          Aug 26 (UNB) – “Mukulita Khulna”, a programme under the
          countrywide Total Literacy Movement, will be launched here on
          September 1 to make the district free from the curse of illiteracy by
          2001. 
           
          
           
          This
          was informed at a meeting of the sub-committee on campaign,
          publication and motivation of Mukulito Khulna at the Deputy
          Commissioner’s office on Friday. 
           
          
           
          Convenor
          of the committee ADC (general) Mohammad Abdus Sattar presided over the
          meeting. Additional District Magistrate and other concerned officials
          were also present. 
           
          
           
          The
          meeting was informed that State Minister for Disaster Management and
          Relief Talukdar Abdul Khalque will inaugurate the programme at KD
          crossing on September 1. 
           
          
           
          A
          massive campaign, publication and motivational programme has also been
          undertaken, under which a film titled “Ekhoni Somoy” will be
          screened in all upazilas. 
           
          
           
          Other
          programmes include a slide show on “Mukulito Khulna” in cinema
          halls, staging of drama, presentation of folk songs and audiocassette,
          publication of supplementary in local dailies and a monthly bulletin
          and broadcasting of news and programmes in Khulna Betar. 
           
          
           
          The
          sub committee will sit twice a month to review the activities of
          Mukulito Khulna, the meeting was told.
