Apr 21 (UNB) – Serious crimes like killing, mugging, robbery and
extortion have marked an alarming rise in the district due to inaction
of the local administration.
Police said three people were killed in Sadar
Upazila alone last week.
A gang of miscreants shot dead a young man,
Bachchu, at Ukilpara in the town on April 10.
In another incident, unidentified terrorists called shopkeeper
Sumon, 20, out his shop and slaughtered him on April 13.
A housewife, Zinat, was slaughtered allegedly by
her husband at a bazaar here on April 15. Another housewife, Farhana
Chowdhury Dina, was killed in the town on March 28.
