          Rangpur,
          Dec 9 (UNB) – Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation (BADC)
          has set a target of producing 475 metric tons of improved variety Aman
          seeds in Rangpur zone this year.
          
           
           
          
           
          A
          total of 475 acres of land have been brought under the seed production
          programme in the zone covering five districts -- Rangpur, Kurigram,
          Nilphamari, Gaibandha and Lalmonirhat. 
          
           
           
          
           
          Besides,
          some 150 contract growers are engaged in Aman seed production under
          BADC’s Nilphamari and Domar agriculture farms, official sources
          said.  
          
           
           
          
           
          Of
          the total, 340 metric tons of BR-11 variety, 45 mts of BR-31, 60 mts
          of BR-32 and 30 mts of BR-33 variety will be produced this season.
